TMM Rigger (New Mine Development) Job Description
Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric or equivalent qualification
  • Recognized Rigger Trade Certificate
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Rigger on trackless mobile equipment
  • Medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by the risk-based medical examination at the relevant Goldfields Occupational Health and Safety Centre and pass a Heat Tolerance Screening Test

  • Proven track record of production achievements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure health and safety of self and team members by applying relevant standards and procedures in all planning and execution of maintenance activities
  • Perform inspections in accordance with the Mine Health and Safety Act regulations and Company standards
  • Contribute to a culture of zero harm by adhering to all requirements as laid down by legislation, health, safety, environmental, security policies, and procedures, and by the application of specific instructions to own work area and task completion
  • Transporting of heavy and bulky loads including slinging work
  • Assisting with the recovery of broken-down or redundant mining machinery and equipment within the Mining Engineering section
  • Managing spares requirements of rigging equipment to ensure availability
  • Promoting and developing team effectiveness within the Mining Engineering section
  • Maintaining registers and records of all equipment as required by the Mine’s applicable Codes of Practice and Standards
  • Work overtime, standby, and be available for callouts and reassignment within the department should the need arise
  • Communicate with supervisors to inform on maintenance activities performed and availability of equipment
